About SpaceSanifferDo
SpaceSanifferDo is an independent educational project about Windows disk space. It explains how storage views work and offers browser tools for practice. It is not a software company site, and it is not affiliated with SpaceSniffer or its developer.
Who it is for
The guides are written for people using Windows 10 and Windows 11 in the United States who want to understand a full drive, a confusing folder size, or a treemap. The language is everyday English. The examples use the Settings and File Explorer paths those versions of Windows publish.
What the website provides
You can read how a disk scan adds up folders, how a treemap turns those totals into rectangles, how to look for large personal folders, why a volume and a folder window disagree, and how to review cleanup choices. A separate guide explains SpaceSniffer from the developer’s published description. A comparison page lines up approaches without scores or a recommended download.
What the interactive tools can do
- Draw a simulated treemap and let you open sample folders, with sizes and breadcrumbs.
- Calculate available space, used percent, and remaining space from capacity, used space, and a planned addition.
- Convert among KB, MB, GB, TB, KiB, MiB, GiB, and TiB using decimal and binary factors.
What the tools cannot do
- They cannot read the file system on your computer or on a network drive.
- They cannot delete, move, or restore files, and they cannot empty the Recycle Bin.
- They cannot replace Windows Storage settings, File Explorer, or a desktop disk analyzer.
- They cannot provide a software download or act as support for a third-party program.
What this project does not claim
SpaceSanifferDo does not publish a company registration, a staff list, an office address, a founding year, a certification, or a partnership. The pages are educational material for a static website. If a statement on a guide and a statement in Windows disagree, Windows and the vendor’s current documentation are the authorities for that product.
Questions about the site itself go through the contact page, which lists only channels that are actually published. The privacy policy describes the same limit.
